Dry ice blasting has been standard practice in industrial England for years. In Mid Wales, if you wanted it, you waited for someone to drive over from Birmingham and paid for their journey. We didn’t think that gap should exist — so we closed it.

Why IceForce Blasting Exists

IceForce Blasting was set up in Newtown because nobody else had. Powys is full of garages, farms, engineering shops and fleets producing exactly the kind of contamination dry ice blasting removes best — carbon, grease, oil, corrosion, mould — and none of them had a local specialist to call. We built one.

Fully insured, properly trained, and equipped to work on-site or in our own workshop — this isn’t a sideline or a job passed on to a subcontractor. Right now that means one thing: when you call, you talk to the person who does the work, not a call centre relaying instructions to someone else. You get a straight answer, and if we take the job, a specialist who has done the training and holds the certifications to prove it.

Tidy Behind Us

Containment and masking go up before we start, and the contamination we remove leaves with us or goes in your skip — your choice, agreed before we begin. A workshop shouldn't be worse off for us having been in it.

The Science, Not Just The Sales Pitch

We accelerate solid CO₂ pellets to supersonic speed and fire them at the contaminated surface. On impact, the pellets sublimate — they turn straight from solid to gas — and that phase change does the work: a micro-thermal shock that fractures the bond between the contamination and the substrate, lifted clear by the expanding gas. The pellets themselves leave nothing behind. No water, no abrasive grit, no chemical residue — just the dirt, oil, carbon or corrosion you wanted gone.

Non-Abrasive

Won't score, pit or wear the substrate — safe on soft metals, gaskets, electrical components and precision tooling that grit or media blasting would damage.

Non-Conductive

Dry ice carries no electrical charge, so we can work safely around live panels, motors and control gear that water or wet media would rule out.

Chemical-Free

No solvents, degreasers or caustic agents involved at any point — nothing that needs storing, handling under COSHH, or rinsing off afterwards.

No Secondary Waste

The CO₂ sublimates into the air it came from — no slurry, no spent media, no wastewater. What's left is only what we blasted off, ready to sweep or wipe away.
